Stock Velocity

Analyze the turnover speed of your inventory

Understand how fast your products sell and optimize restocking with velocity analysis.

The problem

Without velocity data, your stock is miscalibrated

Blind restocking

Ordering 2,000 units of a product that only moves 150 units/month freezes 13 months of cash. Without a velocity calculation (units sold / day over 30 or 90 days), that mistake is common and represents 20-40% of average inventory tied up needlessly.

Tied-up capital

A mid-size merchant sits on 150,000 to 600,000€ of inventory on average. Products with no sales in 90 days (typically 15-25% of a catalog) tie up 30,000 to 150,000€ in cash you could redeploy into acquisition or top-sellers.

Missed opportunities

A best-seller moving 300 units/week hits a 10-day stockout: 4,300 units of revenue lost + negative SEO impact on Shopify/WooCommerce (mishandled stockouts = rank loss) + customer frustration that drives them to a competitor.

The solution

Fullmetrix calculates velocity for every product

Turnover rate

Velocity computed over 7, 30 and 90 days (units sold / day), weighted toward recent trends (more weight on the last 14 days). Cleanly separate products accelerating (30d velocity > 90d) from those slowing down.

Stockout prediction

Estimated stockout date = current stock / weighted velocity. Example: 320 units on hand, velocity 12/day → stockout in 26 days. Automatic alert at D-30 so you have time to reorder from the supplier before running out.

Velocity score

Automatic A-B-C-D ranking: A = top 20% of sales (priority management, never stockout), B = next 15%, C = active long tail, D = dormant (destock candidates). Pareto method applied to stock to focus effort where it matters.
