E-commerce profit tracking: finally see your real profitability

Revenue does not pay the bills. Fullmetrix calculates the net profit of every order by factoring in all your costs: goods, shipping, transactions, advertising and operational expenses. Make decisions based on margin, not revenue.

The problem

Why most e-commerce merchants have no clue about their real profit

No visibility into real profit

Your CMS displays gross revenue but never net profit. Cost of goods, shipping fees, payment processing commissions and ad spend remain invisible in your dashboard. You think you are profitable while your margins are silently eroding. Without a consolidated view of all your costs, it is impossible to know which products, channels or campaigns actually generate profit.

Decisions based on revenue, not margin

When you optimize ad campaigns on ROAS (Return on Ad Spend), you are maximizing gross revenue, not profit. A product with a 5x ROAS but a 10% margin is less profitable than one with a 3x ROAS and a 40% margin. Without per-order and per-channel profit data, you are investing your ad budget on the wrong products and the wrong audiences.

Hidden costs eroding margins

Stripe or PayPal transaction fees, marketplace commissions, return costs, packaging fees and accumulated discounts are rarely aggregated. Each cost item seems negligible in isolation, but together they can represent 15 to 30% of your revenue. Without automated cost tracking, you discover the problem too late, often at the accounting close.

The solution

How Fullmetrix transforms your profit tracking

5 cost categories integrated automatically

Fullmetrix syncs and categorizes your costs into 5 types: cost of goods sold (COGS), shipping fees, transaction fees, ad spend and operational costs. Import is automated via your connected platforms (CMS, ad platforms, payment processors). Every order is enriched in real time with actual costs, not estimates.

Profit by product, category and period

View the net margin of every product, every category and over any time period. Instantly identify your most profitable products and those losing money. Compare profitability across periods to detect trends before they become problems. Filter by store, acquisition channel or customer segment for granular analysis.

Automated ad cost import

Connect Meta Ads, Google Ads and TikTok Ads in a few clicks. Ad spend is synced daily and attributed to the corresponding orders. Calculate POAS (Profit on Ad Spend) instead of ROAS to optimize campaigns on real profitability, not gross revenue. Data is consolidated in an automated P&L.

Key features

Everything you need to manage your profitability

Net profit per order

Every order shows its net profit after deducting all associated costs: COGS, shipping, transaction, advertising and operational. You instantly see whether an order is profitable or not, and by how much.

Margin by product and category

Rank your products by net margin, not revenue. Identify negative-margin products and those driving your profitability. Make catalog decisions based on real data.

POAS (Profit on Ad Spend)

Replace ROAS with POAS to optimize your ad campaigns. POAS factors your real costs into the ad return calculation. A POAS of 2x means every euro spent on ads generates 2 euros of net profit.

Margin alerts

Set alert thresholds on your margins. Get notified when a product, category or campaign drops below your target margin. React before the profitability decline becomes structural.

Automated P&L

Generate a complete, automated income statement for your e-commerce business. Gross revenue, discounts, returns, COGS, shipping, commissions, ad spend and net profit, all updated in real time.

Multi-period comparison

Compare profitability between two periods to identify trends. Detect whether your overall margin is improving or declining, and which cost items to act on first.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about profit tracking

How does Fullmetrix calculate net profit per order?+

Fullmetrix deducts from each order the cost of goods (COGS), shipping fees, payment processor transaction fees, attributed ad spend and operational costs. The result is the real net profit, not an estimate based on averages.

Can I bulk-import my COGS?+

Yes. You can set COGS at the product level directly in Fullmetrix, or bulk-import them via a CSV file. COGS are then automatically applied to every order containing the product.

Are transaction fees tracked automatically?+

Yes. Fullmetrix calculates transaction fees based on your payment processor commissions (Stripe, PayPal, etc.). You configure the rate once and every order is enriched automatically.

What is the difference between ROAS and POAS?+

ROAS (Return on Ad Spend) measures gross revenue generated per euro of advertising. POAS (Profit on Ad Spend) measures net profit generated per euro of advertising. POAS is more relevant because it factors in your real margins. A high ROAS on a low-margin product can mask an unprofitable campaign.

Is ad data synced in real time?+

Ad spend is synced daily from Meta Ads, Google Ads and TikTok Ads. Data is available in your dashboard the day after the spend, with attribution to corresponding orders.

Does Fullmetrix work with PrestaShop, WooCommerce and Shopify?+

Yes. Fullmetrix connects natively to PrestaShop (1.7 to 8.x), WooCommerce and Shopify. Order, product and cost data is synced automatically via a dedicated module or app.
