Cross-Sell Rate

Percentage of orders including multiple complementary products sold together.

Cross-sell rate measures the proportion of orders that contain at least one product complementary to the main product. It is an indicator of your store's ability to maximize value per order.

Calculation: Cross-sell rate = Multi-product orders / Total orders x 100. Mature e-commerces reach 20-40% thanks to relevant recommendations and bundles.

Cross-sell directly increases AOV and improves profitability because acquisition and shipping costs are amortized across multiple products. Personalized recommendation engines (based on purchase history) multiply cross-sell by 2 to 5.
